 PREP Write out these terms under the class post and define them:

SCHEDULING- the time media is shown during a specific period.

LIVE TELEVISION - a programme that is being shown live.

'SECOND SCREENING' - the use of a computing device that can give an enhanced viewing for content, with another device.

AUDIENCE INTERACTIVITY- How the audience reacts to media.

THE WATERSHED - when programs might not be suitable for children.

PEAK VIEWING TIME - the time at which most people are watching programmes. in the UK this is normally between 6-10:30pm, when people are back from work.

HIGH PRODUCTION VALUES - the quality of a film, the higher the budget, the higher the production value.

    The definition of 'second screening' on page 22 of the OCR text book.It refers to audience's increasing use of social media such as tweeting and joining Facebook discussions about a programme : it encourages audiences to be active rather than passive
    Be prepared to offer more information on 'interactivity' such as viewers being encouraged to vote for favourites, an activity which increases the audience's commitment to the programme /channel.
    'Watershed' 9 p.m, after which programmes are not family-friendly
    'High production values' refers to the high quality of the set, costumes, design, locations: be more precise.
